been some changes in our plans due to the week off.

Happy New Year!

We have had a very busy but very productive 1st couple of days back!!

Our class is beginning new units in math - we are beginning fractions, reading - we just began a new book with our guided reading groups called "Blood on the River" which is about Jamestown in 1607 and the beginning of colonization, science - we are learning all about sound, and social studies - this week we have started learning the 13 colonies; how they were settled and the resources that helped them survive and become successful.

There will be an at-home project to go along with our study of the 13 colonies coming home this week. This project will be due on January 28th.

Our class is doing several in class science activities with sound one of which we will need pictures from magazines. If you have any old magazines at home it would be so helpful if you could send in one or two!

Also, the Cobb County School District Special Education Department would like you to save the date and join them on January 24th for a seminar entitled "Navigating Down the Parent Resource Road". It will be held at Simpson Middle School from 6 pm - 7:30 pm.

Report cards will be sent home on Friday. We are very proud of our entire class for their effort this nine weeks we had some students who have made some great improvements this nine weeks!!
