The class is doing great job learning about our routines and how I am running the classroom.
This Month we will be learning about:
Reading/Lanugage Arts- We will be learning about identifying story elements, retelling stories, making predictions, and making connections when we read. In Language Arts we will focus on parts of speech including nouns and proper nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Phonics-We will still be studying about the short vowels and then the long vowels. We will also learn about the "magic e" or silent e on the end. We will also focus on beginning blends.
Math-In math we will be studying about even and odd numbers, tallies and graphing, addition and subtraction strategies, and introduce place value to the hundreds place.
Science- We will be learning about weather and seasons.
Social Studies- Benjamin Franklin, will be or topic this month

NOTES
We will be visiting the media center as a class every Thursday or Friday.
Thank you all for getting the first month of homework turned in! Make sure to read with your child for at least 20 minutes each night and sign and initial on the homework calendar. The homework calendar and notebook will be turned in at the end of the month.
