I cannot believe that we will be celebrating the 100th day of school is this month. The school year is going so quick, it will be spring before we know it.
This month in school we will be studying:
Writing-We will continue our unit on informational writing, by using the internet, dictionaries and books. We will then use this information to write paragraphs on the subject.
Language Arts- We will study about homophones, homonyms, contractions, root words, prefixes, and vowel digraphs and diphthongs (oi, oy, au, aw).
Math-We will continue to study our math facts to 18. We will also study money (practice counting coins, bills, and making fair trades), fractions (equal parts, half, thirds, fourths) and time (to the hour, half hour, and quarter hour).
Science- We will start a unit on plants and focus on the parts of a plant, the needs of a plant, and even grow some of our own plants!
Social Studies- We will study Theodore Roosevelt.
