I found this online and thought it might interest you. This author is writing about Frontier Days at Stone Mountain Park.

The settlers in and around Atlanta in the 1700's and 1800's were very much pioneers. And Frontier Days at Stone Mountain will allow you and your family to learn more about those days. The event begins tomorrow, April 28, and lasts through May 1st. Catch a glimpse of life in Georgia before Revolutionary times, even as far back as the 1500's, when DeSoto's explorers first ventured here. Chat with Governor James Oglethorpe about the founding of Georgia in the year of the 278th anniversary of that event. Watch calvary in action from the Civil War Era, and learn about frontier skills, cooking, music, medicine, fashion, and much more. Most activities take place at the Antebellum Mansion at the park.betwen 9 Am and 3 PM on Thursday and Friday, and 10 AM -5 PM Saturday and Sunday.

CRCT Testing

Hi Parents,

 

I hope everyone got lots of rest this past week.  We will begin testing tomorrow, and it will last through next Monday.  Students will not have homework during testing, but can always read for joy and practice multiplication on multiplication.com.

Important things to remember:

• Get plenty of sleep.
• Eat breakfast.
• Arrive in plenty of time to unpack, get settled, and use the restroom.
• Bring a water bottle and snack if you want something between tests. 
• We can't leave the room to get water/snack during testing, but we are allowed to move to the side of the room to have a ten minute break with snack and water.
