September

Thanks to everyone for attending curriculum night.  It was great to see each of you.  If after reading over the handouts you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at whitney.spooner@cobbk12.org. 

This week your child brought home his or her yellow sight word folder.  Please keep these folders at home and work on the words with your child.  I will be asking you to send them back in later in the nine weeks.

In September we will continue to study germs.  We will also start our unit on producers and consumers.  In math, we are working on number patterns, addition and subtraction facts to 10, even and odd numbers, and place value.  Also, we are really working on increasing our math vocabulary...we will be learning about addends and sums.  We are really focusing on becoming great writers and doing what great writers do.  Ask your child what great writers do!  They should be able to tell you some of the things that we are working on! (Use capital letters, correct punctuation, include details, the story makes sense, etc.)
