Just a reminder, please send your children in layers because the temperature in our classroom is nice and toasty, but when we go out to recess, some of the children do not have warm enough jackets. Thank you.
A few things to remember:
Arts Night Out/ Spaghetti Night:
PTA is sponsoring an "Arts Nights Out" on Friday, February 11th at 6:30 pm. Teachers will also be hosting a spaghetti dinner. Proceeds go towards Relay for Life which supports cancer research.
Writing Contest:
Directions and entry forms for the Heroes Writing Contest have been sent home. Entries need to be submitted by Feb 11th. This is optional.
Six Flags Reading program:
The information for this went home a few weeks ago. The program ends on February 28th. Please return your reading logs by that date and make sure they have been signed by a parent to be eligible for the free ticket.
Jump Rope For Heart:
Jump Rope for Heart is on Wednesday, February 9th. Parents are welcome to join their children in the gym during specials.
2nd Grade - Star Lab field trip. This in-house field trip in scheduled for either February 15th or 18th. The Elachee Nature center will present the program. The students will have an opportunity to observe constellations in a portable planetarium.
4th grade - Cobb Youth Museum - 7th and 8th February.
Valentine Exchange - Our class will exchange valentines on Monday, February 14th. Please make sure your child has one for every student in the class. If they want to decorate shoeboxes at home and bring them in, that would be fine.
Winter Break: Feb 21st through Feb 25th
Lastly, if you need information on how to access textbooks, I have flyers with instructions that I can send home. Just let me know with a note in the Behavior Log or Take Home Folder.
