Happy New Year!

I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break.  I had a wonderful, but busy time with my family and friends.  Now that school is back in session, it is time to turn our focus back to learning, and if we can have fun doing that, even better!  Thank you so much for the extra classroom supplies that some of you have sent in.  We really appreciate it, and now have enough tissues, hand sanitizer, cups, and plates.  We could do with some paper towels, as we use so much of that on a daily basis.  If you haven't already sent in anything, and would like to do so, paper towels (and # 2 pencils) are what's needed.

We will be finishing up our thematic unit on penguins and other arctic animals.  We are using double-bubble maps to compare and contrast different animals.

Our Language Arts for the primary grades will focus on correct punctuation and capitalization.  We will also learn about adjectives, and practice using them to improve our writing.  The upper grades are focusing on parts of speech, contractions, and improving our writing.

We will soon be studying weather and clouds, which will be interesting for all of us.  Maybe we will be lucky enough to get some snow this year!

Everyone is progressing so well and the children have really bonded and friendships have formed in our classroom.

As always, feel free to contact me with any concerns you have.
