News for this Week (10/18/11)

• Reminder: Science fossil quiz tomorrow.  Wildcats may count rereading Science text for tonight’s 20 min. reading.  Please have your child return their Science textbook tomorrow.
• Please check your child’s agenda each week to see what facts they should be practicing.
• We are working on knowing how to write home addresses correctly.  I have put a sticker inside your child’s green folder that they can refer to as necessary.  We will practice in class, but I would encourage them to practice at home as well.  (Ask your child to tell you the acronym for remembering how to spell Marietta!)  I will put a “smiley face” on the folder sticker when they’ve mastered the task.
• Thanks so much for all the wonderful items you sent in for our first “Gift Gallery”!  We had many happy shoppers!  Thank you, Mrs. Fernandes and Mrs. Gogolin, for running the Gallery.
• Reminder: Next week is conference week and Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center.  Students will be dismissed 2 hours early each day.
• Reminder: Next week is also “Red Ribbon Week”.  Please refer to the handout sent home yesterday to see the daily activities.
• Please send in the Field Trip forms for our trip to the Wright Environmental Center by Friday, 10/28.
