News for weeks of 5/16 and 5/23

• We're all looking forward to field day this Friday morning!  Please send dry clothes, socks, and shoes with your child so they can change if necessary.  Also, sunscreen and water bottles would be a good idea.  Let's wear our class t-shirt one last time!
• I've asked the kids to show their multipliction/division work on this week's math homework sheet (either on the sheet if room allows or on notebook paper turned sideways).  Notebook sheets should be turned in with the homework sheet.  Thanks!
• Next week will be our last week for Spelling Binders, math homework, and reading logs.
• Library books are due back to the Media Center this Friday.  The children may continue to take AR tests to meet their goals, however.  They can use books from home, our classroom, or the public library.
• We are looking forward the end of year 3rd grade party on Tuesday, 5/24 at 9:00.  We are planning a "Portfolio Party" at 8:30 on the same day in our classroom. (A "formal" invitation will go home next week.)  I hope you can stop in to review your child's portfolio and celebrate their hard work in 3rd grade.  You're welcome to stay for our 3rd grade party as well.  Please let Kim Jones or Paige Conner know if you can help with a station.
• CRCT scores will be sent home this Friday.  I will send them in a large envelope.  The score sheet is yours to keep.  Please self address the envelope and place 4 postage stamps on it.  I will use the envelope for your child's report card and other mailings sent after Memorial Day.
