- Moohan Martial Arts is offering a “Stranger Danger” seminar free of charge to all Mountain View families at their Academy (3605 Sandy Plains Road #140). It will be from 12:30 – 2:00 on Saturday, April 23, 2011. They will be covering simple strategies and basic defense tactics that both children and parents can use in the event they are approached by a stranger.
- Spring Fling has been changed from this evening to next Friday, April 29th. Please mark your calendar to join us for a fun filled evening. 5th grade will be selling food, a DJ will lead the crowd in outdoor dancing, and Mrs. Janas and Coach DeVore will be spending the night on the roof! (They didn't forget that they promised to do this in return for meeting our Jump Rope for Life Goal.) Spring Fling goes from 6:30-8:30.
- Our class will visit the Spring Book Fair Monday, April 25th. You may send money with your child. They can also visit the fair any day next week, and it will be open for shopping during Spring Fling Friday night.
- Congratulations to our Tyler Jones! Tyler is the winner for 3rd grade in the Cobb County Writing Fair! Her report on bobcats now goes on to competition at the state level. The Wildcats did a great job on our Georgia animal reports. They are posted outside out classroom.
- As many of you know, Tyler unfortunately broke her leg over Spring Break. She will be doing school at home for a few more weeks. We wish her a very speedy recovery!
- Thanks go to our wonderful room moms, Kim Jones and Paige Conner, for the treats at St. Pat's Day, Easter, and helping with Boosterthon rewards.
- Thank you again for your very generous support of Boosterthon! We are so happy that our computer lab teacher, Miss Fine, will be back again next year. Also, I , along with many other teachers, received a check this week that will go towards classroom materials. This would not be possible without the support of the wonderful Mountain View community!
