For the next nine weeks we can look forward to:
LA:
We will be focusing on response to literature this nine weeks. Students will have to form an opinion based on their point of view in response to a reading selection. They will have to make connections to the literature using details from the reading selection.
We will continue to work in reading groups.
Math:
This nine weeks we will start exploring the relationship between multiplication and division. Students are expected to know their multiplication facts. This will expedite the transition to division. We will also start discussing plane geometric figures and angles.
We are going to continue working on: elapsed time to the half-hour, constructing and interpreting graphs, counting back change, and problem solving.
Social Studies:
We are going to begin our study on historical figures. This nine weeks the historical figures will be: Paul Revere, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass.
Students will also be expected to identify the Rocky Mountains and Appalachian Mountains on a map.
Science:
We will focus on soils found in Georgia this nine weeks. Students will be expected to compare and contrasts different types of soil. They will also be learning how soils change over time.
