Wow, I can hardly believe it is April! I hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable spring break! I will look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday morning ready to finish out the year!
THIS MONTH
Reading/Language Arts-We will focus on understanding what we read by making connections between books and making connections with characters in a book. We will also be studying author's work the remainder of the year and begin our first author study with Eric Carle.
Writing-We will be learning how to write to persuade. We have been working on a persuasive writing about the continents and will continue our writing when we return from the break!
Math- We will study standard and non-standard measurements of weight and capacity. We will also be practicing double digit addition and subtraction without regrouping.
Science-We will begin a unit on animals. We will study the different types of animals. Information about an animal research project will be sent home after spring break.
Social Studies-We will be studying George Washington Carver.
IMPORTANT DATES
Our media center dates will be on Thursday, April 14, Thursday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 27.

April 12-Domino's Night
April 12-18: CRCT testing for the older grades will be taking place. The building will be closed to all visitors during testing. Our lunch time will be from 12:24-12:54 during testing so please be sure to send a snack with your child to eat during the morning.
April 14-Menchie's Night
April 19-Chick-Fil-A Night
April 25-29-Spring Book Fair! The media center will be open each day from 7:30-3:30
