February
This month in math we will be studying fractions, 3 digit addition and subtraction, measurement, and place value through the thousands place.
We continue with our non-fiction text unit and expository writing. The children are working on publishing their All About Animal Books.
We will begin our space unit the week of 2/7 and will focus on stars, the sun, day and night, and moon phases.
The follwing are some important dates this month:
Valentine's Day exchange: Monday 2/14- A letter will be coming home the week of 2/7 with class list and information about the exchange.
STAR LAB field trip: February 18th
Spaghetti night: February 11th
Holiday Break: 2/21-2/25
The February book report is a character walk. It is so much fun! The letter will be sent home the week of 2/7. It will not be due until March 8th.
We will begin practicing for the Friends play which will be performed by the children on March 4th. The children are learning the songs in music right now. Be looking for more information soon.
Please consider having your child participate the Heroes essay contest.Information was sent home this week.
