Cobb Virtual Library is an age appropriate internet refererence resource provided free of charge by Cobb County School District to all students. These resources may be accessed at home with passwords that are available from the media center. The following is a description of some of the resources available in Cobb Virtual Library:
- Culture Grams contains in-depth information on the cultures of 182 countries and the 50 U.S. states. Includes geographical and historical information, maps, flags, photo images, biographies of countries' best-known individuals and native recipes.
- Electric Library is a database containing full text content from over 800 current magazines and newspapers. The database also includes transcripts from TV and radio broadcasts, books from reference collections, photo images, and maps.
- GALILEO has full text magazine and newspaper articles as well as great internet resources for the K-12 curriculum relevant to both teachers and students. The password for GALILEO changes quarterly and is available from the media center.
- Grolier Online provides three encyclopedias as well as The New Book of Popular Science, Lands & Peoples, and America the Beautiful, all excellent resources for up-to-date, accurate information.
- World Book Online is based on World Book Encyclopedia and features interesting historical facts, information on current events, and help with online resource citations.
