Welcome to November!!

What an exciting month!!  There's so much happening!!  Here's what we're learning:

Language Arts: continuing our beginning blends, antonyms, character comparisons, reviewing main idea and cause and effect, classifying and still working on being the best writers that we can be!!

Math: fact families, 2-D and 3-D shapes and proximity words

Social Studies: long ago and today and patriotic symbols

Science: sound and magnets

*Nov. 5th and 6th: NO SCHOOL!

*Nov. 14th: First grade play at 9:30, then Thanksgiving lunch.  (our lunch is at 10:48)  Hope to see you there!

*Nov. 15th: Wellstar In-House field trip with Mrs. Kurtz's class

*Nov. 16th: Wear your favorite college team's colors - Go VA Tech Hokies!! :)

*Nov. 21st-23rd: No School!  Happy Thanksgiving!!

*Congratulations to our Character Ed Student of the Month - Hunter!! Way to go Hunter!!

*Reminder - Scholastic Book Orders are due at the end of the month.  Also, Reading Logs are due at the end of the month in order to receive a special lunch and a pizza coupon!

*Thanks to Mandy Conn and Mo VanDeusen for our wonderful Fall Centers!  Also, thanks to Ilene Adkins - "The Laminator!"  You all are wonderful!

*A huge thank you for my WONDERFUL wedding gift!  The dish was beautiful and my husband and I are very excited about having a special occasion to use it!!
