Hello Families!
I hope you all have had a wonderful restful break. I just want to say again how greatful I am for all of the kindness, generosity, and gifts you gave at the end of December. I am so blessed to work with you and your children and I am truly appreciative!
We will be kicking off the new year with a field trip on Wednesday to the Fire Safety Village! This is a great learning field trip and we will have lots of fun! A few things to remember: Please have your child wear their class T-shirt on Wednesday. Also remember that we will be eating lunch there, so anything your child brings will need to be in all disposable containers with no glass. We will not be bringing lunchboxes! Please make sure your child's lunch is clearly labeled. Also, students should be dressed comfortably and wearing tennis shoes as we will be participating in physical activites. No dresses or skirts!
PLEASE NOTE: The performing arts field trip that was scheduled for Friday January 13th has been cancelled, but we were able to reschedule for a different performance. We will be attending the Atlanta Ballet presentation of Snow White in February. More information will come soon.
I am so impressed with our class effort on IXL! Although we may have a smaller class, we have completed over 10,000 problems collectively! I hope that number will continue to rise. I am excited to see who has been working hard and earning medals over break! Please continue to encourage and allow your child to use IXL as often as possible, as this is an AWESOME resource! Also, this will be a required part of our weekly homework for the rest of the school year. Please let me know if you are still unsure of how to use IXL at home!
