Hello Families!
We are off and running into the second nine weeks! Here is a look at what we will be learning this month:
Language Arts: Response to Literature - how to summarize a book in writing, make connections, and give a recommendation. Inferencing, fluency, homophones, homographs, pronouns, etc.
Math: Making change with coins and bills, and two digit subtraction with regrouping. Make sure to practice your subtraction facts!
*At home suggestion: Find a jar and put some coins in it for the kitchen. Each time your child asks you for a snack or drink, tell them how much it costs and have them count back the change to $1.00 with the coins.
Social Studies: How Georgia Began, focusing on the Savannah settlement and the famous Georgians, James Oglethorpe, Tomochichi, and Mary Musgrove.
