Happy New Year!!!

Hi!

I hope everyone had an amazing winter break! We are already busy, busy, busy! This month, we will be reviewing letter sounds, digraphs, blends, word families, rhyming words, vowel sounds, reading sight words, writing detailed sentences correctly, writing numbers to 100, ordinal numbers, identifying coins and their values, creating fair trades, reviewing two dimensional and three dimensional shapes, working with the January calendar, measuring snowmen, discussing ways to stay healthy, learning about MLK day and President's Day, learning our address, and reviewing our US symbols....Just to name a few!!! :) This month, we will be starting Book in a Bag! More details to come! Thank you so much for all your support!

We are very excited to have our student teacher, Mrs. Patton with us! Please be sure to come in and meet her! :)

Jan. 13-Report Cards come home....please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns

GUESS WHAT.....

This morning, Dr. Garriss announced to the whole school that our class is in 1^st place for IXL!!!! Yay! I am so proud of them! They all have worked so hard! Great news! Let’s keep it up over the break!

Dazzling December!

Time is flying by!!! Everyone has been doing such an amazing job! We are so proud of them and how hard they work each day! We have lots of fun events to look forward to this month:

Dec. 19th- Holidays Around the World! We will rotate to other kindergarten classrooms to learn about other holidays! Also, on this day we will be having our class Holiday Party! We will be creating gingerbread houses! Everyone is welcome to come and help! :)

Dec. 20th-High Tech High Touch-In-house field trip!

Dec. 22nd- PJ Day and Polar Express!!! Last day of school before the holidays!

Ideas for review at home: coins, fair trades, shapes, holidays, US symbols, sounding out words, letter sounds, vowels, writing numbers to 20 and beyond, ordinal numbers, patterns, five senses, IXL, starfall, guided reading bags, all passed sight words lists, and writing correct sentences with capital, spacing, and punctuation.

November!

Hi Families,

     It was wonderful to meet with you all during conferences. We are so thankful for all the parental support that you give us each day! Our students are doing amazing and have already come soooo far! We are so proud of them! This month, we will be learning and working with Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, sorting things by day and night, discussing our five senses, reviewing coins and their values, fair trades, ordinal numbers, calendar activities, SHAPES, reading sight words, working with letter sounds, sounding out words, writing sentences, rhyming....just to name a few! :) We are very busy!!! Please know that our door is always open and we would love to have you join us for centers, etc!

Let's meet our GOAL!!!

Dear Families,

       One of our School Strategic Goals is for students to be proficient at or above grade level in Math. Each nine weeks, we will administer a pretest to determine a grade level goal. For the first nine weeks of school, our goal is for students to state the days of the week and months of the year in order as well as the four seasons-Math Standard: MKM2.  We will be checking and rechecking to help all of our students meet this goal. Please help your child at home as well.Thank you so much for your support! :)

Dear Students and Family,

It was wonderful to meet you all at Sneak-A-Peek!. I look forward to talking to you at Curriculum Night on Thursday, August 18th at 6:00!

Please remember that each day your child should bring their backpack, a healthy snack,  and their take home buddy folder. Our lunch time is 10:12- 10:42. Our snack time is around 1:20.
