Dear Families,

We are very excited about the Boosterthon Fun Run on Wednesday, May 6. Our class will participate in the run from 9:45-11 that day. Please be sure that your child eats a  healthy  breakfast that morning and send a nutritious snack.  We will not have lunch until 11:45 that day.

Our class has chosen "Cook's Cats" as our team name!

Hello April

Hello April!

With only two more months of school, we will continue to work hard and plow through the standards!  Please keep up to date with the weekly newsletter for skills and homework.  I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Spring Break! 
I want to inform you that the ENTIRE school will be closed to visitors the days of the CRCT beginning Tuesday, April 21st through Monday, April 27th from 7:20 through the end of testing which can be unpredictable.  If you every have any questions, please let me know.  Thank you for all that you do!

Hello March!

March has already started out with a bang--SNOW!  We will be having another in-house field trip on Tuesday, March 24th.  The kids are sure to LOVE this one.  They bring out some neat animals. 

Please continue to practice the book in the bag and the sight word lists.  I will continue to update you weekly on my newsletter.  Have a wonderful month!

Parent Survey for Standards-Based Report Cards

encourages parents to participate in the online fall survey for the new standards-based report cards.  As part of the ongoing development process, a survey link has been posted to the Cobb District website to gather input on the recently distributed K, 1, and 2 report cards.  Please visit www.cobbk12.org to respond.  The survey will be open until Dec. 1, 2008. 

 

Hello November!

Hope this finds everyone well!  We are really working on sentence structure this month and boy, I have already seen improvement!  Here are a few things to keep in mind and please read my weekly newsletter that is sent through the red folder.

                                    Hello October!

What beautiful weather we are having and it is so fun to talk about and graph it daily during our calendar time!  The end of the first 9 weeks hits Friday the 10th.  We will be going into the 2nd 9 weeks this month!  Here are some things to remember:

• Our First Field Trip on a Bus!!! Imagine It Bob the Builder Tuesday, Oct. 14th (We will wear our class shirts) I have them here in the room
• Early Release Wednesday, Oct. 15th
• Going to the library the 17th (don't forget to return your book)
• Visiting Book Fair Monday, Oct. 20th
• Going to the library the 24th (story and check out)

I will be sending home a few things to let you know what the 2nd 9 weeks involves.  I am really pushing the sight words---they can do it!  Please practice at home with flashcards.  Have a wonderful month of Fall!

Super September!

We have completed the first month of school and we are well on our way!  Thank you for all of your donations and support that you have given to our class.  We will continue to work on letters, their sounds and how to write them correctly.  Please be sure to practice at home as well.

We have been working on The Five Senses, All About Me, Labor Day and needs and wants.  We will soon dive into Community Helpers, which is always fun for the children as they will get to dress up as their favorite! Here are a few important dates to remember:

Wednesday, Sep. 10th CHEESE!!!  It is picture day

September 16th is the first Early Release Day

The kids have been doing a great job of coming in and unpacking.  They are beginning to show more independence and are getting the hang of the routine.

Welcome to K

                  WELCOME TO A GREAT YEAR IN KINDERGARTEN!

I am very excited to have your child in my class this year!  You will be amazed at how much they grow and develop throughout the year.  It was wonderful to meet you all at Sneak-a-Peak.  I want to say, "THANK YOU" for all the supplies that you have sent in.  I thank you too for the kind notes that are sent in---it truly brightens my day!

I want to tell you about a couple of things that are important. Curriculum Night is Tuesday, Sep. 2nd from 6:30-8:30.  Please make a point to come.  There will be a lot of valuable information shared about our classroom and how things operate in the room.  During this night, I will inform you of when your child goes to P.E. so they can wear the proper shoes.  Don't forget to turn in any forms that were filled out, send a snack with your child daily and label their water bottle if they bring one. 

Be sure to ask your child about Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Math journals! Don't forget to check the red folder daily and to put ANY transportation changes in the red folder.
