Here's what's going on this month...
Curriculum:
Language Arts Students will be learning how to write persuasive paragraphs, and they will be reading books with persuasive themes. We are nearly finished with our Bare Books and can't wait for you to see them in May!
Math We will continue to work with multiplication readiness. Students will get more practice with making arrays, using a multiplication chart, and writing multiplication problems. We will begin working on division readiness skills by learning about sorting items into equal groups and using repeated subtraction. We will continue to work on skills for money and time.
Science This month students will be learning about the life cycles of plants and animals. We will be planting seeds and observing their growth.
Social Studies Students will continue learning about goods, services, producers, consumers, and the allocation of goods and services. They will learn about spending and saving.
CRCT: Third, fourth, and fifth grade students will have CRCT testing from April 12th through April 18th. During this time visitors will not be allowed in the hallways and classrooms until testing for all classrooms has been completed for the day. Second grade students will not be taking the CRCT this year.
Schedule Change: During CRCT testing (April 12th-18th) our class will have a change in our lunch and specials schedules. Our lunch will be from 10:36-11:06 and specials will be from 11:30-12:00.
Book Reports We are finished with book reports for the year! I just wanted to thank all of you for helping your children with these projects throughout the year. Students really put a lot of effort into their projects, and it was amazing to see their presentation skills improve each month.
