It is hard to believe that this will be the last blog of the year! This year with your children has been just wonderful. You have been great parents to work with, and I thank you for all of your support. There are  several dates I want to share with you. Field Day will be next Wednesday, May 13. If you would like to help out during the morning, please let me know.Young Author's Day is Friday, May 15 at 9:00 in the Media Center. Ilene Adkins is going to lead our group. We would like to invite all of you to come to our classroom, so your child can read his or her Bare Book to you. This will be on Monday the 18th at 8:15 A.M. They also want to show you all of the writing we have done this year, in our Writing Portfolio. Our end of the year party will be on Wednesday May 20 and the last day of school is May 22. I would like to thank Ilene Adkins for all she has done this year, and Traci Scherr for being our reading Mom every Thursday.  All books are due May 8th.

April News

SPRING BREAK!!!!!! There is a whole lot of excitement around Mountain View this morning. I think everybody needs a little break. This year has flown by, and now it is almost time for CRCT testing. I hope your child has been practicing the on-line tests. The week we get back, we will be doing pen and paper practice.  Testing will be April 21,22, and 23rd. Please make sure your child is rested and has a full tummy. Also, please send a snack. I will send you more details as we approach the 21st.I hope you all will have a woderful Spring Break.Teresa

March News

Spring Break is just around the corner! I am looking forward to a relaxing week with friends, I grew up with.I have'nt talked with the children yet about your plans. March will be busy with lots of review and practice. Crct testing will take place April 21,22, and 23rd. Please make plans to be in town those days. Math, Social Studies and Science books are now on line for your convenience. I will send home the passwords on Friday with your child. Have a great March! Teresa

January News

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and restful two weeks off from school. I have had fun today, the teacher workday, getting ready for all of our January activities. It is so quiet when the children aren't here! . Our trip to Fernbank will be exciting, we're studying Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King,  Fractions, Space and Adding and Subtracting to 1,000 and of course there is Conference week.I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THEN! Happy Holidays

     Can you beleive how quickly the months have gone by? We are working hard every day to cover all of the materials for the nine weeks . The children have been wonderful, and so very eager to learn. The end of this nine weeks is the 19th!!!!! Watch for the summative assessments to come home. I want you to be well informed, before the report cards go out. I am also looking forward to seeing all of you for our January conferences. I wish you the best holiday season ever. Love, Mrs.Babbit

Can you believe the holidays are approaching? This Fall has flown by!! We are so busy and getting lots accomplished. These children are so eager to learn and so much fun to teach. Please keep helping your child with any circled Spelling words and Math facts each week.Important dates are: Thanksgiving lunch for 2nd grade will be November 13th at 12:00, Progress reports, Nov. 18th, and Book reports will be on Nov, 20th.Thanksgiving Holidays will be Nov.24-28th. Most of the work coming home is to let you know what we are doing in class. The S1,2,3 grades will help you understand your child's report card grade. If you have questions or would like to meet with me, just let me know. I like for our communication to be frequent. That is why I continue with the newsletters, blog and contact in the agenda. The daily menu will  be on-line monthly, or you may receive a hard copy. As you know, I send most important news home on Fridays. Please check your child's agenda and red folder daily. Graded papers will always come on Monday. Thank you for sending in all of the field trip $ and info promptly. The days are flying by, and we are very busy. September News Letter

           It's the fourth week of school already! The children are doing great and have settled in nicely to Second Grade. Thank you for coming to Curriculum Night, and giving me the oppotunity to tell you what to expect this year. We agreed that I will send home a Friday newsletter when necessary. I sent instructions about the September book report on Sept. 9. It is not due until the 25th. Please remember to send a healthy snack everyday. Reading for 20 minutes is required daily. Math and Spelling will also be weekly  homework. Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to help us this year. I appreciate your support and look forward to a great year. Teresa Babbit
